Abertay University Admission 2018/2019

The Admissions section in Registry is responsible for the oversight of all UK and EU applications to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The team works closely with colleagues in Schools and the Student Recruitment Office to advise them of UCAS and Abertay admissions procedures. We maintain and audit the admissions section of the University’s Student Records’ System.

Some of our main duties include:

  • acting as a central source for receiving and updating UCAS application data
  • assessing application forms for disabilities and criminal convictions prior to distribution to School Offices
  • process home and EU direct undergraduate and postgraduate applications
  • assessing fee status of new students
  • processing applicants’ entry qualifications and assisting Schools with verification of such qualifications
  • provide Schools and senior University management with admissions data
  • process and send orientation packs to new students.

How to Apply

If you’re ready to apply to Abertay University, we can help guide you through the process.

Undergraduate/bachelors degrees

Undergraduate applications should be made online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). This is the central admissions service for all universities and colleges of higher education in the UK.

September 2018 Admissions

If you wish to apply for entry in September 2018, please visit the UCAS website to make your application.  The main deadline for applications is 15 January 2018.  After this deadline, applications may be accepted for some courses although we recommend you contact us to check before submitting your application.

View our course listings before submitting a UCAS application online for September 2018.

Deferred Entry to September 2018

We regret to advise that the University does not consider applications for deferred entry to September 2018.  Applicants considering study in September 2018 should apply through the 2018 UCAS Application Cycle.

Transferring from another University

If you would like to transfer your studies to us from another university, either in the UK or overseas, contact our Student Recruitment hotline on +44 (0) 1382 308080 for more information.

Consideration for advanced entry onto our courses will largely depend on the content of your current course, and how this compares to the content of our course. Transferring to a course can also depend on how well you have performed on your current course. Where appropriate comparable study is evident, it may be possible for us to award accreditation for prior learning and possibly grant advanced entry onto our course. This is something which is assessed and decided on upon receipt of a completed application form. All applications are considered on an individual basis.
