Emergency Nursing programme

The Emergency Nursing programme is a two-year post-diploma programme for registered nurses. It is essentially a practice-based course which is well grounded in the Biological, Physical and Social Sciences.

The programme provides a professional nurse with the requisite specialized knowledge and skills to make independent clinical decisions and to deliver excellent emergency nursing care in high dependency.

Mission

We provide excellent training to students to enable them become General Nurses, Emergency Nurses and Midwifes who are able to:

  1. Apply their knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles in Nursing and Midwifery to the benefit of the nation.
  2. Relate these concepts to their clients and patients who require their services.

We will be internationally recognised as a premier center for excellence

for nursing education, practice, leadership and research in Africa. We shall

produce competent nurses in various pecialties to support the health sector

in Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world.

Entry Requirements – B.Sc. Emergency Nursing

Applicants must satisfy the University’s requirements for admission to degree programmes and and

be at least 25 year old registered general Nurses. They must also:

i.     Possess a Diploma in Nursing.

ii.     Have a minimum of two (2) years working experience in a clinical area.

iii.    Pass an interview.

iv.    Pass pre-programme. (This is a bridging programme to upgrade candidates’ knowledge in

the basic sciences).
