LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women’s soccer team jumped out to an early lead on the road, but West Alabama came from behind to win 3-2 on Friday night in UAH’s final game of the season. UAH ends the year at 8-9-0 (4-8-0 Gulf South Conference), while UWA improves to 10-6-1 (7-3-1 GSC).

Turning Point
-Kirsten Reilly scored in the 72nd minute for the hosts to complete the UWA comeback, lifting the Tigers to the 3-2 victory.

Inside the Box Score
-UAH opened the scoring as Alexcia Alexander scored in the 16th minute, and she tallied again just minutes later in the 24th to give UAH a 2-0 lead. Melody Hoernschemeyer assisted on the second tally.
-West Alabama got on the board in the 31st with TeMia Pride scoring, producing a 2-1 score by the halftime break.
-Pride then scored the equalizer in the 61st before Reilly scored the go-ahead marker in the 72nd.
-West Alabama outshot the Chargers on the night by a 27-8 margin, but the difference in shots on goal was just 8-6 in favor of the home side.
-Larae Breaux recorded five saves in goal for the Chargers.
-Corner kicks in the game were even at 5-5, and the guests were whistled twice for being offside.

-UAH recorded its highest win total since the 2012 season when the Chargers recorded 10 wins.
-The contest marks the final one in the fine careers of four-year starters Maddie Maurice and Hoernschemeyer.
-With her third multi-goal game of the season, Alexander finishes the year with a team-best 10 goals while also leading the team with 22 points. This marks the second season in her career in which she notched 10 goals as she also netted 10 during her freshman year.
-The assist for Hoernschemeyer is her fifth of the season as she closes out her UAH career with her best season offensively, logging four goals and the five helpers for 13 points which ranks third on the game.
-Breaux’s five saves give the junior 105 to conclude the season.
