UAH Undergraduate Merit Tuition Scholarships

UAH Undergraduate Admission Process

UAH Undergraduate Merit Tuition Scholarships:

UAH’s merit tuition scholarships recognize incoming first-time freshmen (including international students) who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in high school. All merit tuition scholarships are four-year awards for fall and spring semesters, renewable each year based on full-time student status and satisfactory academic progress.

No separate scholarship application is required. Students who submit an Application for Admission, official transcripts, and standardized test scores are automatically eligible for consideration.

The award amount is based on GPA and the highest composite ACT and/or SAT scores from one sitting submitted through and including the last testing date before the start of the fall semester. If your GPA increases once we receive your final transcript and it puts you in a higher scholarship bracket, we will automatically upgrade your scholarship. The award amount can be determined by applying award percentages shown in the matrix below to resident or non-resident tuition for the academic year of enrollment.

Combined scholarship offers cannot exceed Cost of Attendance and usually do not exceed tuition unless otherwise specified such as on-campus housing.

Alabama resident status includes residents of Alabama and the following Tennessee counties: Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Giles, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marshall, Moore and Marion.

While award recipients are only required to take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, merit tuition scholarships cover up to 18 credit hours per semester. UAH encourages recipients to take the number of credit hours needed to graduate in four years, 16 or more per semester. This will allow you to complete your degree in four years, resulting in significant cost savings for the completion of your degree.
