The MS in Nutrition Sciences, Research Track accepts admission for the fall term only.
The MS Admissions Committee begins their review of complete application on March 1 for the upcoming fall term. Please note that if March 1 falls on a weekend, then the deadline for complete applications is the next business day.
Our minimum program requirements include an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a combined (verbal and quantitative) GRE score of 300. The GRE must be completed within the past 5 years.
A degree in a recognized field of biological, physical, chemical, agricultural or engineering science from an accredited university is preferred.
For international students, there is an expected TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version) or a minimum score of 6.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

You will complete coursework through a planned, structured, yet flexible program of study that is tailored to meet your needs. The majority of your coursework is online but part of your research training will be face-to-face. Your learning experience, in an environment that fosters novel learning and uses cutting-edge technology, will facilitate scholarly proficiency and in-depth understanding about nutrition sciences. Our interdisciplinary courses will help you transcend boundaries and succeed in professional and academic arenas.
The MS in Nutrition Sciences, Research Track program prepares students for careers in research and education. Students learn the metabolic and biochemical basis for nutritional care while being involved in basic and/or applied nutrition research. Potential research areas include:
wellness and health promotion
children with special healthcare needs
general clinical research
Students in the Research Track complete a minimum of 37 semester credit hours, generally, over a two year period of time. As part of the program requirements, you will complete a minimum of 8 semester hours of Master’s level research, which is usually completed over a 4-semester period of time.
